As a real estate professional , Jay and his wife Lynn Otlewski were looking for a unique way to communicate with homeowners in their personal service area. They were also looking for something to give value to the residents in the neighbourhoods they served. Together, they developed the concept and marketing methods for Connecting Neighbourssm, a Web-based interactive communication tool for neighbourhoods.
 After developing an initial neighbourhood website, the Otlewskis test-marketed the site by mailing postcards directing homeowners to visit the site. Within a short time, homeowners were calling and emailing the Otlewskis, thanking them for providing the neighbourhood with a useful web site. Almost immediately, homeowners recognized the site’s value and began utilizing its features by posting classified ads or gathering community information.
Realizing neighbourhood sites would only be successful with regular traffic, Lynn outlined ideas for regular mailings and promotions. Each of these ideas were test-marketed to Lynn’s four existing sites, streamlined with the help of participating agents and made available for all sponsors to use.
As other agents saw the Otlewski’s gift to the neighbourhoods, they asked Jay to build sites for them. And the rest, as they say, is history.
The Otlewskis since left their successful real estate business, choosing to dedicate their time and expertise entirely to Connecting Neighbourssm. Under their direction, Connecting Neighbourssm has significantly improved site design and services with features such as Today's Life Solutionssm, local weather and more. All of these features are provided without the user having to leave the neighbourhood site.
Since 1999, the company has established more than 10,000 sponsored neighbourhood sites. In addition to our full staff and full-time webmaster, Connecting Neighbourssm has a growing sales force of more than 50 professionals throughout North America.
