We understand and respect that you are concerned about your privacy. Connecting Neighbours is committed to respecting your privacy whenever you use any of our websites. We have established this privacy policy to explain how your information is collected, stored, protected and used. We encourage you to review the following Privacy Policy so that you may understand how we protect your right to privacy. This Policy also tells you how you control the way we use your personal information.
This Policy may be updated from time to time.

Our Privacy Policy Principles
In regards to this Privacy Policy, “Connecting Neighbours” means Connecting Canada Inc., ConnectingNeighboursCanada.com and their personnel. The Connecting Neighbours Privacy Policy only applies to information collected and maintained by us.
Your personal information is accessible only by those who need to know the information for the purposes to which you have consented. Specifically these are:
1. Connecting Neighbours; and/or, 2. Our Third Party Interests: These include our Licensees/Licensors, our Sponsors and/or our Partner Organizations/Companies.
Any person, and/or organization and/or company, including their respective personnel, acting for Connecting Neighbours on our behalf or providing a service for us are considered a third party. Although we do not have any direct control over our third party interests, Canadian interests are also legally obliged to comply with PIPEDA and of-like provincial legislation. Regardless, we trust and expect our third party Interests to follow the standards set out by our privacy policy, keeping your information confidential with or without your consent. Please note that third parties may also use your personal information according to their own policies, which may differ from the Connecting Neighbours Privacy Policy. As such, you may wish to contact these parties to inform you of their own privacy polices. Regarding your personal information collected through Connecting Neighbours, a current list of specific parties with access to this is available from our Privacy Officer upon your request.
In the event that Connecting Neighbours was to sell or dispose of all or a part of our business, the transaction could involve the transfer of your personal information in connection with the transferred business.
Our policies and practices are modelled in compliance with the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and of-like provincial legislation. Inherent to Canadian privacy legislation and the Canadian Standards Association Model Code for the Protection of Personal Information are the ten privacy principles adopted by Connecting Neighbours, these 10 principles are defined below:
PRINICIPLE 1 – Accountability
Connecting Neighbours is responsible for personal information held under its control and shall designate a person or persons responsible for complying with Canadian privacy legislation.
PRINICIPLE 2 – Identifying Purposes
Connecting Neighbours will identify the purpose of collecting personal information before or at the time of collection.
PRINICIPLE 3 – Consent
The knowledge and consent, implied or explicit, of an individual is required for the collection, use or disclosure of personal information.
PRINICIPLE 4 – Limiting Collection
The collection of personal information shall be limited to that which is necessary for the purpose identified by Connecting Neighbours.
PRINICIPLE 5 – Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention
Personal information shall not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of an individual or as permitted by law. Personal information shall be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes.
PRINICIPLE 6 – Accuracy
Personal information shall be as accurate, complete, and up-to-date as is necessary for the purposes for which it is to be used.
PRINICIPLE 7 – Safeguards
Personal information shall be protected by security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
PRINICIPLE 8 – Openness
Connecting Neighbours shall make specific information about its policies and practices relative to the management of personal information readily available to individuals.
PRINICIPLE 9 – Individual Access
Upon request, an individual shall be informed of the existence, use, and disclosure of his or her personal information and shall be given access to that information except when required or permitted not to do so by law. An individual shall be able to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information and have it amended or even removed from Connecting Neighbours records.
PRINICIPLE 10 – Challenging Compliance
An individual shall be able to address a challenge concerning compliance with Canadian privacy legislation to the designated individual or individuals accountable for Connecting Neighbours compliance (Privacy Officer).
